On Saturday evening July 23,
2005 MAGDRL held our 1st Annual Dining for Danes Bull Roast at
Parkview Heritage Gardens in north Baltimore, MD. This event was the first
of its kind for MAGDRL and it was a resounding success thanks to the
efforts of our volunteers, sponsors and donors! |

Seated at the registration table
are MAGDRL volunteers Jim and Rachel (not visible) Ludwig. At 8 p.m.
sharp, lines started forming and extended out the door and down the sidewalk.
Other volunteers
pitched in to move things along.
At left in the blue blouse is Joan Schramm, our Annapolis Meet & Greet Coordinator. Joan was one of our volunteers at this event and her husband Michael played in the band. Over 100 tickets were sold and every seat was filled! The items on the right are seven premium door prize baskets. I was delighted to win a doggie toy basket which included "The Ugly Dachshund" movie on DVD for me! |

Our silent auction was a big hit! There were over 50 items for bid including jewelry, artwork, sculptures, a wine kit, dog items and several Louise Peterson Great Dane sculptures. All items were donated to benefit MAGDRL. Several premium items prompted a heated competition between bidders. The results were some nice donations to help our MAGDRL orphans. We also held a 50/50 cash raffle. The winner graciously donated her winnings of over $300 back to MAGDRL. Our orphans thank you! |

The dinner was served
all-you-care-to-eat style. The hit of the evening was the western pit
barbeque that was charcoal grilled out back
For those with other tastes, there was an array of choices including pasta, sausage & peppers, Italian meatballs, cold cuts, and side dishes. The meal was topped off with a homemade sheet cake dessert. On the right, our bartender sold beer, wine, and sodas throughout the event.
