It was a hot, humid day for our annual outing at an Orioles game in Camden Yards, Baltimore. Nevertheless, we had a steady stream of visitors at the MAGDRL booth. | |||

At age 7 YO, Capone has become a stellar Senior Dane Statesman! |

MD/DC Co-Coordinator Christina Kallay brought her handsome Dane boy Falkor. He amazed visitors when he sat on his Dane Mom's lap! Visitors to our booth were amazed at the variety of sizes, colors, and ears of the Danes in attendance. Today's Danes ranged from 110 to 170 lbs and from 30" to 38" at the withers. Some people thought they were different breeds! I was delighted by a visit from several USDA/Animal & Plant Health Inspection Service teammates. It's such a pleasure to work with talented people who are also true animal-lovers. It proves again that every day is "A Great Day to Work for APHIS!" |

MD/DC Foster Coordinator Emily Gilbert and her husband Nick brought their handsome Dane boy Hamlet (aka Shakespeare's Danish Prince) to please the crowds. He and Savannah only broke into a play frenzy once or twice today, but they were quickly stopped when they became disruptive. New MAGDRL volunteer Jamie Emche attended her first MAGDRL Dane event and offered a free pair of hands. She held our dogs while we took breaks, help set up and tear down our booth, and patiently answered visitor questions. Jamie hopes to bring her 2 YO Dane to a future event. LOVE those new volunteers! |

Here Savannah is handled by Christina's mom, MAGDRL volunteer Rose Buckner. This year the Buckner and Kallay families hosted their 5th Annual MAGDRL yard sale, a huge fundraiser for our orphans. The NoVa team sends the leftovers from their spring yard sale to MD for the Buckner/Kallay summer sale, and they send the leftovers from their sale to our Westminster MD team for their fall sale. These genereous efforts benefit both the item donors and our orphans! |
