Traditional Healing: Rocky Gorge Animal Hospital  June 1, 2008

For more than 10 years, my pets have been patients of Dr. Steven Wolchinsky at Rocky Gorge Animal Hospital in Laurel, MD. Although I think they are the best veterinarians in metro Maryland, for 58 years their office consisted of a converted residence that was too small to accommodate modern equipment.

In 2007, Dr. Wolchinsky began construction on a new facility and on June 1, 2008 they held their Grand Opening Ceremony.

The new Rocky Gorge is AWESOME!!! Besides being beautiful, they are now a state-of-the-art veterinary medical facility with on-site CT Scan and Ultrasound equipment. Medical offices are on the upper floor; a pet resort, boutique and grooming salon are on the lower floor; and there is a huge pooch play area in the rear.

The entire facility is computerized, with monitoring stations throughout that link to their high-tech diagnostic equipment. Staff can check on the status of any pet in the facility from any location, boarding clients can watch their pets on webcams, and Vets can check vitals on animal patients from their homes. Their exam rooms and surgical areas, equipment and boarding facilities accommodate pets as small as kittens and as big as Great Danes.

Best of all, they will soon offer 24 hour emergency veterinary care. I can't wait!
